In coproduction with Studio Hamburg DocLights and with polyband as our distributor we are producing a film about “The Forest”. Based on our two part miniseries “The Forest”, that still holds the record market share on “Erlebnis Erde” with its premiere in 2009, we have shot many exciting new sequences within the last 12 months. The new music sound track is being composed by Jörg Magnus Pfeil. Coming to theaters in 2012. (12.10.2011)

Extract of the jury decision: “The film portrays the nature of a whole country in a poetic way….Fascinating observations of rarely shown animals alternate with opulent pictures of their habitats – virtuously edited, excellently commented and a sensitive musical accompaniment - an extraordinary film.” nautilusfilm wishes to thank the jury and the commissioning editors of DocLights/ Studio Hamburg, NDR, ARTE, WDR and ORF.  (12.10.2011)

New project: The Bavarian Aquarius“
A very special wildlife filmmaker is the focus of our latest film for BR, Germany, that will be completed until the end of this year. Geologist, Technical Diver and Wildlife Filmmaker Walter Sigl is “The Bavarian Aquarius”. Instead of filming the coral reefs of the world, Walter Sigl was right from the start in 1958 drawn into the freshwaters of his Bavarian home country and later of the whole world. He was the first man to film in freshwater and his work was rewarded many times. We now have the honor to portray the life work of Walter Sigl and to give insights into half a century of diving adventures.  (12.10.2011)

Jan and Melanie Haft will be in Pamplona at the end of October, holding a course about the “nautilusway” of wildlife filmmaking at the University of Navarra.
The course is related to “Telenatura” Spains largest international wildlife film festival. We have attended the festival in previous years and we found a large and enthusiastic documentary film makers community there.   (12.10.2011)
